Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Where to start, where to start. Well I suppose some of you already know that `NyssaB will be heading off back to Australia on Wednesday. How do I feel about that? Crap, of course, but I really don't want to talk about it heh. She will however be starting her freelancing career properly which is so awesome. It's been amazing to watch her grow as a web designer and developer and I am extremely proud of her <3

Daily Deviation

On another note, not so long ago I received a DD on Circular Motion which was an awesome experience especially so since it was on one of my abstract photos where I suppose I feel my style is fairly different than some others. However, I really haven't decided if that's such a good thing or not yet : So many many thanks to all those that commented and faved it (finally got around to replying to everyone!) and to `Staged for thinking it was worthy of a DD.

Monthly Sub Giveaway Revival

Starting from next month I shall be bringing the Monthly Subscription Giveaway back. I stopped some months back because I had way too much on my plate such as being busy, money tied up etc but things should be a little calmer... for now. dAmn Activity

Due to being busy and to be honest, generally lacking interest in dAmn in general, I kinda quit it for a while. Although more recently I have been going into dAmn a lot more lately. Mostly #Love4artfun though. Sarah AKA `Whimsical-Dreams has made me an admin in there and I have offered to help out whenever possible. The Magic Dog

Just an update on Magic... he's doing really well. Still as nervous as hell when walking past some people on the street, but doing well. He had to go to see the vet and when they came around to put him into the van he messed himself. poor fellow : Other than that though, he seems to have settled down in his new home really well. Finished designing my website and Nyssa has pretty much coded it all up. Not ready to launch it yet though until I work on all the content. Weather has been much better lately so we've been getting out as much as possible. Gotta love how it decides to change right when Nyssa's ready to go back. Doh!
